UCWEP President Taşkın holds talks on green diplomacy

UCWEP President Hasan Taşkın visited Professor Kasım Yenigün, Director-General for Combating Desertification and Erosion. UCWEP High Council member Yusuf Ersoy also attended the meeting.

At the meeting held in Ankara, Türkiye’s efforts to combat desertification and erosion, international environmental diplomacy and the COP31 Climate Summit to be held in Antalya were discussed.

Türkiye’s environmental work

Prof. Dr. Kasım Yenigün gave information about the General Directorate’s scientific projects, sustainable land management and international collaborations. The UNCCD COP17 conference held in Ulaanbaatar, the capital of Mongolia, was also on the agenda of the meeting.

Taşkın highlights international cooperation

UCWEP President Hasan Taşkın drew attention to the importance of transferring Türkiye’s environmental knowledge to the international public.

The meeting ended after mutual evaluations on environmental diplomacy and international cooperation.
