Digitalization Messages from the Top of the State

The main axis of the meeting was the strategic statements of the Director of Communications and BİK General Manager:
Head of Communications Prof. Dr. Burhanettin Duran: Drawing attention to the pressure of the speed of digitalization on “truth”, Duran emphasized that artificial intelligence cannot replace the journalist, but should be used correctly as a tool. He reminded the importance of combating disinformation by saying, “Digital sovereignty is a part of national sovereignty.”
BİK General Manager Abdulkadir Çay: Referring to the institution’s leading role in digital transformation, Çay heralded that the public support provided to the press in 2025 exceeded 6 billion TL. He said, “There is no journalism without journalists” and stated that human-centered ethical journalism (Digital Conscience) should be protected no matter how much technology develops.

Active Efforts of BİK Ankara Regional Manager Atakan Çelik

During the preparation and coordination processes of the panel, active field work, especially at the regional directorate level, attracted attention. BİK Ankara Regional Manager Atakan Çelik made a significant contribution to the success of the panel with his intense work on adapting local media organizations in the region to digital transformation and making maximum use of the technological infrastructure opportunities offered by BİK.
