President Taşkın: Journalists are the voice and conscience of society

UCWEP President Hasan Taşkın published a message on the occasion of 21 October World Journalists’ Day.

Mayor Taşkın included the following views in his message:
The free exercise of the nation’s right to receive information is of vital importance for the progress of society. Journalists work with great devotion to fulfill this duty.
Journalists are the voice and conscience of society. We are grateful for their efforts and courage. Happy 21 October World Journalists Day.
World Journalists’ Day is celebrated every year on October 21. The reason for this is that the first private newspaper, Tercüman-ı Ahval, started publication on October 21, 1860.
