UCWEP President Hasan Taşkın marks 50 years since the Cyprus Peace Operation

UCWEP President Hasan Taşkın, Chairman of UCWEP, published an important message on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Cyprus Peace Operation. Taşkın included the following statements in his message:
“The Cyprus Peace Operation, carried out on July 20, 1974, is one of the most important turning points in the struggle for existence of the Turkish Cypriot people. This operation launched by Türkiye to stop the oppression and genocide against the Turkish Cypriots is a historical step taken to establish peace and tranquility on the island. The Cyprus Peace Operation is a symbol of justice and freedom, reflecting the spirit of unity and solidarity not only of the Turkish Cypriots but of the entire Turkish nation. It is an operation.
Today, on the 50th anniversary of this operation, we commemorate the late President Rauf Denktaş, the late Prime Ministers Necmettin Erbakan and Bülent Ecevit and all our martyrs with mercy and our veterans with gratitude. Thanks to their sacrifices, the Turkish Cypriot people continue to live freely and independently. The spiritual legacy of the Cyprus Peace Operation always reminds us how valuable peace, justice and freedom are.
As UCWEP, we will continue to support the rightful struggle of the Turkish Cypriot people and Türkiye’s legitimate defense in Cyprus on every platform. We are proud to stand by the Turkish Cypriot people today, just like 50 years ago.
As we celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Cyprus Peace Operation, we once again commemorate our martyrs and express our gratitude to our veterans. “On this meaningful day, I offer my greetings and respect to all our people, with the hope of ensuring permanent peace and tranquility on the island.”
This meaningful message from Hasan Taşkın once again brings to the agenda the historical importance of the Cyprus Peace Operation and the just struggle of the Turkish Cypriot people.
